ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION:

Al Afaq International School welcomes you and appreciates your cooperation in the following:

  • AII new students are required to take the placement test and attend an in-person interview.
  • Only the school administration is authorized to accept or refuse any student's registration and determine the available space as well as who meets required admission terms. Placement tests may only be undertaken at the school.
  • Students coming from abroad are to ensure that the required documents are attested by the Saudi Cultural office. All relevant documents are to be received within one week to ensure that the registration process is successful.
  • Students are required to re-register annually. A booking fee of 2000 riyals is paid to ensure placement. Standard withdrawal procedures will apply should the student not return. The school has the right to refuse reregistration due to non-payment or should a student's academic results or behavior be unacceptable. Parents are encouraged to maintain positive communication with the school to ensure that re-registration proceeds smoothly.
  • Parents are to inform the school of any changes in contact information or renewal of iqamas or passports.

SCHOOL FEES:

  • 1)The contract duration is for one year, and parents pledge to pay all fees stipulated in this contract. Failure to do so will result in termination of the contract and fees being recovered by all legal means.
  • 2)The school fees are subject to the value added tax of 15% for expats' children in accordance with Zakat and income committee instructions of value added tax. Extra supplies from the store are also subject to 15% for children of citizens in accordance with Zakat and income committee instructions of value added tax section.
  • 3)Any other fees not related to schoolbooks, such as transportation are exempt from tax 0%. A 5% discount is available to all parents who pay all fees in advance before the beginning of the academic year. In case of two or more brothers enrolled in school, there will be 5% discount on the second child, and 10% discount for the third child.
  • 4)The school accepts all payment methods except cash. No cash payments are allowed.
  • 5)ln the event of cheques not being accepted by the bank, the parent will be informed via text message within two weeks. Theissue will be referred to the school's legal department for further action if parents do not respond within two weeks of receiving notification thereof.
  • 6)Parents are not entitled to deduct any portion of outstanding fees if students are absent.
  • 7)Neither the parent nor the student is allowed to demand monthly results, results, pedagogical statements or administrative one, or to continue schooling, unless he pays the fees due.
  • 8)AII discounts that have been granted will be immediately cancelled should fees not be paid on time.
  • 9)The school has right to accept the students on the waiting list instead of recent students who have not paid tuition fees of the new academic year. (Discretion)
  • 10)Full school fees and school transfer fees are payable in the event of a student's expulsion from school due to educational reasons or special needs that were not disclosed at registration.

Note:AIS reserves the right to make changes to the above fees at any time. Parents will be informed as soon as possible.

VAT will be applied in accordance with Saudi VAT Laws.

WITHDRAWAL:

  • 1)To withdraw from the school at beginning of school year. Parents have to apply for a withdrawal request during the first week of the first trimester and pay the administrative fees of S.R 3,000.00 for the withdrawal file of each student. However, if the withdrawal procedure is not followed in order to determine if approval is granted or not, then the administrative fees will be applied to each student via the parents account statement.
  • 2) In case the student is absent for a week from the beginning of the academic year without a notification of reason. Parents will be liable to pay the full tuition fees of the first trimester.
  • 3)Parents are required to inform the school officially should they wish to withdraw the student file at the end of the year. Should the relevant forms not be completed, the school will not reserve a desk for the following academic year.
  • 4)Should the second party withdraw the student's file for any circumstances during the academic school year, they will be liable to pay the full year's tuition fees.
  • 5)Once the new student registration fee has been paid, it will be considered non-refundable, even in the event ofwithdrawal.
  • 6)The school administration reserves the right to decide if a percentage of fees paid will be refunded, should the student beunable to adapt to the class due to poor academic performance.

FINANCIAL POLICY:

The student's parent/guardian shall commit to respect and adhere to the school's Financial Policy as follows:
  • 1.The registration fees shall be paid only for the newly enrolled students upon registration; in case of withdrawal, the parent/guardian will have no right to refund the registration fee.
  • 2.The students will not receive their textbooks unless the first instalment has been paid on time.
  • 3.Once the registration has been completed, fees may not be refunded.
  • 4.The parent/guardian has the right to withdraw the student file in case of leaving the school at the beginning of or during the school year provided that the school fees will be paid.
  • 5.The school administration has the right to refer to the country official authorities to require the parent/guardian to pay the total amount due should he/she refuse to pay the required tuition.
  • 6.There is a 10% discount for fees paid in full before 1st September.
  • 7.School should fees be paid in two equal instalments, the first before 1st September and the second before 1st February, no discount will apply.
  • 8.KGs Fees should be paid full in advance.

TUITION FEE PAYMENT FOR NEW STUDENTS REGISTERED AND ENROLLED FOR THE SECOND TERM:

The Placement test and the Registration Fee including half of the annual fee shall be paid for by the parent/guardian of the student registering and enrolling for the second semester.

METHODS OF PAYMENT:

  • 1. Span/Debit Card
  • 2. Bank Transfer Online from ANY OTHER BANK to Saudi British Bank (SAB)

RULES FOR PAYMENT:

  • •The school tuition should be paid by the due date (September, February)
  • •An extension period of one week shall be granted to the parent/guardian for paying the school tuition fees, starting from the due date of any tuition fees.

PROCEDURES IN CASE OF DELAYED PAYMENT:

  • •Send three SMS to parent's/guardian's mobile as well as a Financial Statement to his/her email.
  • •Two letters of notification showing the amount due for payment.
  • •The School Administration has the right to take the necessary procedures, as per the Ministry of Education's Rules and Regulations.
  • •The school will not renew the student's registration for the next school year.

GENERAL TERMS:

  • 1)The entire Application form is considered part of the contract, and all terms and commitments will apply.
  • 2)The contract period is for the holistic academic year, which is renewed automatically, unless there is a change in the contract terms.
  • 3)The school cares about educational achievement, is motivated to build students' character and to ensure that the best interest of all, are served.
  • 4)Both the school and parents are responsible for complying with this contract and implementing all of its terms.
  • 5)The school is committed to provide the students with all educational (pedagogical) and psychological needs.
  • 6)According to the Ministry of Education's guidelines, students are not permitted to transfer from one educational systeminto another after two weeks of commencing the academic year. (Public /International/ Courses)
  • 7)Parents are to complete all the required documents and submit them to the school, within one week. Non-compliance will result in the school being unable to accredit the students' file with the education ministry, registration will be incomplete, and the student will not be accepted.
  • 8) The school commits to maintain the confidentiality of all students' data provided to the school.
  • 9)The student pledges to preserve school property, and parents acknowledge that they will be liable for the fixing or replacing of any damage caused by the student, at their own expense.
  • 10)Parents are required to inform the school concerning a student's chronic health or mental problems, knowing that this information will remain confidential. Should any health or mental concerns not be disclosed, the school will not be held responsible for any complications.
  • 11)Parents are requested to view the teacher's daily notes on the weekly plan, note external activities and follow up on homework.
  • 12)Students are encouraged to actively engage in their work and to respect the decisions that are made to serve them.
  • 13)The security personnel are to be respected and treated appropriately.
  • 14)Vehicles are to be parked in the allocated places and are not to block the traffic in front of the school.
  • 15)Parents will be informed of any changes, including tuition fees, that have been approved by the ministry, by the end of the school year. These changes will be applicable for the following school year.
